Technology Resources List for Teachers
http://www.thatquiz.org
ThatQuiz is a free online resource for math practice and testing. It was written in the summer of 2004 and later expanded according to teacher needs and requests. The original goal was to provide easily accessible software for schools which were not fully utilizing the computers they had in their classrooms. The site has also become popular for students who want extra math practice at home. Although the first tests available were most suitable for elementary school students, new areas have been added for higher grades: algebra, angles, triangles, probability and geometry.
Google Earth, Google Sky, and Google Maps
This presentation highlights some of the key features and educational applications for Google Earth, Google Sky, and Google Maps. It includes links to tutorials, videos, general and educational resources for all three of these Google applications. Attached is a Powerpoint version of our presentation.
Quiz Where Learning Takes Place
Quia has online learning activities, assessment tools, online games, a means to track student performance, a grading program and the capability of identifying student performance needs.
The program provides an opportunity for students to access and share information online.
Blip TV
Blip TV is an alternative to YouTube and is also a web based resource where students can create their own "show" on the web. It can host movies as well as video podcasts. It is easy to use and works great! I have used it for two years.
Hot Potatoes
This application helps teachers create interactive forms of assessment that are then posted on the web where students can access them. The types of assessment include multiple-choice quizzes, short answer quizzes, jumbled-sentences, crosswords, gap-fill exercises, and matching/ordering.
