Intended Purpose: Students will research colonial life and create a multimedia presentation comparing colonial life with life today. This is an integration activity and a suggested performance assessment task for technology in our district
Intended Audience: Third grade
Resource Requirements: (include, file type, platform, cost, user level, etc.) Internet Connection Software for creating a multimedia presentation such as PowerPoint, iMovie or Windows Moviemaker
Abstract: This task is designed to help third graders meet Tech GCEs through conducting monitored Internet research and creating a multimedia presentation about a particular aspect of colonial life. Students will also compare that aspect of colonial life with life today.
Justification: This task addresses all five areas of the Tech GCEs, integrates social studies with technology, and is based on the performance tasks suggested by the state.
