A Real Power Tool

This is a geometry unit focused on measurement, area, perimeter, surface area, volume, and scale drawings and models. Students work in groups of three to create scale drawings and a 3D model of a shed that the class will build. They use Google Sketch Up for the 3D model. Once all groups have prepared their models, the class and local experts decide which shed to build using donations and whatever you can afford to purchase. The finished product will then be donated to the school or a local charitable organization.
